UK Case Law Alerts — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026 · Package: com.ibrahimtxy.ukcaselaw · Developer: ibrahimtxy

In short: this app collects no personal data, does not ask you to create an account and sends nothing to any server of ours — we do not operate one. Everything you enter stays on your phone. There is no advertising network, no analytics and no crash reporting.
Important: This app reads FEED METADATA only — case name, court, neutral citation, date and link. Judgment text is never downloaded, stored or reproduced. No sign-in, no account, no personal details. Your phrase is matched against the full text of the judgment by Find Case Law itself, so a match may not appear in the case name.

1. What the app does

UK Case Law Alerts checks newly published judgments and tribunal decisions on the Find Case Law Atom feed at an interval you choose, and sends a notification to your phone when a judgment matching your phrase is published. An example watch: unfair dismissal, Employment Appeal Tribunal.

The app never buys, reserves or holds anything. It points you at the judgment page on Find Case Law; you act there yourself.

2. Data we collect

None. The developer runs no server and receives nothing from your device — not your watches, not your device identifier, not your usage, not crash reports.

3. What is stored on your device

The watches you create (phrase, courts and tribunals), your interval setting, the records already seen so the app does not tell you twice, and the measured data usage. All of it lives in the app's private storage and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Servers the app talks to

The app connects ONLY to Find Case Law. There is no account and no sign-in; it reads the public Atom feed published under the Open Justice Licence. The address is:

These requests are ordinary public web requests over HTTPS, the same ones your browser makes on the public Find Case Law feed. They carry no identifier of you.

5. Permissions

PermissionWhy
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATETo avoid pointless attempts while offline, and to tell mobile data from Wi-Fi.
INTERNETTo reach the public Find Case Law feed.
POST_NOTIFICATIONSTo tell you a matching judgment was published. That is the whole app.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDSo your watches resume after the phone restarts.
VIBRATETo vibrate when a notification arrives.
WAKE_LOCKSo the phone does not fall asleep in the middle of a check. The app does not ask for this itself; the background work library (Android Jetpack WorkManager) adds it.

6. Children

The app is not directed to children and collects no data from anyone.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
